An auspicious ( John & Ginni's wording) start to a long journey like this one.
The night before departure we went to Jon and Amber's for long last hoo-rah with the gang and brought Schmingle Schmangle. A (much bigger) dog they were watching attacked him. We had to break it up. It wasn't pretty for Ben was it was all over. Poor little goober had a huge gash over his eye, a puncture wound in his neck and his ear was sliced open.
Poor Ben |
Then after we left a received a text from my friend's sister who I was suppossed to stay with my first night on the road in Littleton, NH. She bailed.
The next morning was wonderful, besides Ben barely being able to move. Paul, Gina, Jon, Amber, Nick, Emma, Gina, Craig and John all joined me for different portions of the ride. It was so nice to have such a supportive group of people to start off on this journey with me.
Beecher Falls, VT Port of Entry |
Jerry, Jane, Justin, Lori, Jonathan, Gwen, Abigail, Shirley and her husband all cheered me on as I rolled through town.
Go Team Karen! |
It rained for the first 3 hours. I stopped at the Lancaster McDonald's and was photographed for the Coos County Democrat newspaper!
That night I went to Sandy & Alan's house. I had a wonderful hot shower, good home cooking and a comfy bed. (I have more pictures I'll upload soon!)
Rain makes everything wet and cold.
Ipods make time go faster.
Between Lancaster and Twin Mountain, there is nothing but hills
